2025 AASC Mesonet Meeting Information

The AASC Mesonet Committee is proud to announce that the 2025 AASC Mesonet Community Meeting will take place in Albany, NY at the University at Albany’s ETEC Building from Tuesday, July 22nd through Thursday, July 24th, 2025. We are very grateful to the New York State Mesonet for agreeing to host this year’s meeting. We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone so that we can learn from each other and forge new ways to collaboratively improve the quality of work we do and the data and information we deliver to our users. Below you’ll find information on various aspects of the meeting. As we get closer to the meeting, we’ll continue posting new information here so that everyone can make plans accordingly. The 2025 AASC Mesonet Community Meeting is now accepting abstract submissions. The meeting will take place in Albany, NY from July 22-25, 2025. The deadline for abstract submissions is June 1, 2025 at 1700 PDT.
Presentations on any topic relevant to mesonets or weather and climate monitoring are acceptable. Topics of particular interest include: sensor comparison studies, data quality control methods, field maintenance and calibration techniques, mesonet data products/applications, funding stories, outreach and marketing strategies, multi-network collaboration, and open source resources/software.
Oral and poster presentations will be part of the meeting agenda. Please note that every attempt will be made to accommodate your preferred presentation format, but due to limited time in the meeting agenda and the fact that we plan to accept all abstracts, some presentation preferences may not be able to be accommodated.

A room block is available at the Hampton Inn Albany-Western Ave/University Area, close to the meeting site. The block rate is $117/night and is valid July 20-26. The block rate expires on June 20. Click here to reserve a room at the block rate.
For those of you arriving early on Monday (July 21st), we’ll be meeting up at the City Line Bar and Grill (1200 Western Avenue, Albany, NY 12203). You’ll be responsible for any food or drink you buy, but this is a great restaurant with a wide array of options, including alternatives for various dietary considerations.
On Wednesday evening (July 23rd), we’ll meet at the Indian Ladder Cidery and Brewery, which is about 20 minutes from the meeting venue. We’ll have a tour of a NYSM weather station located near the Cidery, followed by a happy hour at the Cidery sponsored by Synoptic Data, PBC.
We’re excited to offer a field experience at this year’s meeting. Our hosts at the New York State Mesonet have planned a trip to Whiteface Mountain Field Station and Summit Observatory located in the Adirondack Mountains on Friday, July 25th. This will be an optional field trip, but lunch will be sponsored by Campbell Scientific. Cost and travel details will be shared closer to when registration opens.
