In the South Dakota Office of Climate and Weather we strive to be the main resource for climate/weather data for South Dakota providing current and historic information for agriculture, industry, education and the public good.
 
The South Dakota Office of Climate and Weather is housed at South Dakota State University in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. 
 
Dr. Dennis Todey is the state and extension climatologist for South Dakota.  He has a background in climatology, meteorology and agricultural meteorology.  He has been at SDSU since 2003.
 
Mr. Chirag Shukla is the state Climate Data Specialist helping maintain data collection and distribution systems for the university and state.
 
The state climate office maintains a large warehouse of electronic data available on the state climate web site.  We also maintain 30 weather stations across the state to supplement data collection for a variety of uses.  These data are all available on our web site at http://climate.sdstate.edu.
